BEIJING, China (April 19, 2023) -- Swissôtel Beijing Hong Kong Macau Center, one of the most prestigious hotels in the diverse brand portfolio of Accor Greater China, has reopened with a fresh new look and feel, following an extensive, four-year renovation. One of the first internationally branded hotels in Beijing when it opened in 1991, Swissôtel Beijing has served as a landmark and venue of choice among the city’s downtown embassy neighbourhood ever since. The newly upgraded 467-room-and-suite hotel now boasts modern updates in sustainable technology, along with stylish enhancements that harmoniously blend Swiss heritage and Chinese traditions. The reopening of Swissôtel Beijing marks the first of multiple new Swissôtel properties set to open their doors in Greater China in the coming years, with Swissôtel Hefei Grand Park opening later this year and more properties under development in key destinations.

“The reopening of Swissôtel Beijing Hong Kong Macau Center ushers in a new era for Swissôtel in Greater China – as we ambitiously expand the brand’s portfolio across the country over the next few years,” said Gary Rosen, Chief Executive Officer, Accor Greater China. “Swissôtel Beijing is a benchmark of how vital Swissôtel properties become to their communities. Swissôtel’s sense of vitality, sustainable mindset, quality craftsmanship and emphasis on peace of mind create a Swiss-at-heart premium hospitality experience that we look forward to delivering at more of China’s top business and leisure destinations.”

Swissôtel’s history in China began nearly 30 years ago, with Swissôtel Beijing Hong Kong Macau Center. The hotel has played an integral role in the history of modern Beijing, hosting tens of thousands of guests with its legendary Swiss hospitality, from Presidents and Prime Ministers to dignitaries and celebrities from all over the world. Many of the city’s most important meetings and events have been hosted at Swissôtel Beijing, such as 2008 Summer Olympics and Paralympics, along with countless philanthropic efforts – such as supporting the Wenchuan Children’s camp and caring for the Tianjin SOS Children’s Village.

In addition to its significant community involvement, Swissôtel has a passion for incorporating the character and culture of its local communities into its design elements – boldly evident throughout the newly refurbished Swissôtel Beijing. Swiss decorative elements and influences are subtly woven throughout the guest journey, such as the Swiss Ring which subtly integrates Swiss cultural heritage with the history and iconic imagery of Beijing. The redesigned guestrooms of Swissôtel Beijing are spacious, understated, and uncluttered, with intelligently designed furnishings to enhance the feeling of living well. Guests enjoy the hotel’s own peaceful garden view, city views and the CITIC Tower to the east, and the Xishan Mountains to the west. In-room amenities include 100% organic Pürovel products designed to invigorate the body, mind and soul. The Pürovel care products are packaged in biodegradable bottles to minimize waste. Air-conditioning in the guestrooms is provided by an energy-efficient closed cooling tower system, further supporting the hotel’s commitment to sustainable operations.

One of the hotel’s most exciting new features is the Vitality Suite – a signature design with a holistic approach to in-room wellness. The 67sqm Vitality Suite, on one of the uppermost floors of Swissôtel Beijing, offers inspiring views, an uplifting design, and an in-room vitality wall, equipped with fitness tools for strengthening, yoga and more. An air purification system and a Swissôtel bed - praised by our guests as one of their best sleep experiences - with a screened embroidery of the Matterhorn in the Alps contribute to a true sense of well-being. Guests of the Vitality Suite also enjoy Xbox video games for in-room downtime and Swiss Executive Club Lounge privileges.

The spirit of vitality continues in The Fitness Center, which is newly equipped with an energy-efficient central air purification and humidification system to keep workouts fresh. For meetings and events, the hotel offers its signature Vitality Meetings concept to boost inspiration and energy levels. The hotel’s newly renovated 1750sqm state-of-the-art function spaces are equipped with the latest in audio-visual equipment and sustainable technology, for an experience of custom comfort.

A series of vitality-inspired and nourishing menus are featured at Swissôtel Beijing’s beautifully redesigned restaurants and lounges – From Flow Lounge & Bar where guests partake in a bespoke Chinese Cha journey, afternoon tea or happy hour, to the elegant dining room and attentive service of Pretty Clouds, a refined environment for traditional Tanjia Cuisine. Guests may choose Café Swiss for contemporary all-day Swiss specialties, Swiss vitality breakfasts and healthy foods; Swiss Gourmet for a quick takeaway of Swiss style chocolates, Mövenpick ice cream, and homemade bakery treats.

As with many Swissôtel destinations, one of the key advantages of Swissôtel Beijing is its prime location. Residing in the city center and close to foreign embassies, the hotel is also near the popular Sanlitun lifestyle district, Beijing Workers’ Stadium, and just 30 minutes’ drive to Beijing Capital International Airport. The Beijing Railway Station is conveniently only 10 minutes away. With Dong Si Shi Tiao metro station right at the hotel entrance, guests have quick and easy access to downtown Beijing, Tiananmen Square, Wangfujing shopping district, and a host of other must-visit destinations in the capital.

Blending Swiss heritage and Beijing culture, Swissôtel Beijing Hong Kong Macau Center is a flagship amongst Accor Greater China’s portfolio of Swissôtel destinations, including Swissôtel Grand Shanghai, Swissôtel Foshan, Swissôtel Resort Changbaishan, and Swissôtel Shenyang, and the upcoming Swissôtel Hefei Grand Park. Additional hotels currently under development include locations such as Chengdu, Changsha, Hangzhou, Suzhou, and Sanya. Swissôtel is set to become one of the most preferred premium hospitality brands in Greater China among travelers who value authentic and quality experiences, with vitality and sustainability top of mind.
