Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations between France and the Philippines Celebrated at Iconic Luxury Hotels
MAKATI, Philippines (November 04, 2022) -- The Raffles & Fairmont Makati was honored to partner with the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry last October 22, 2022 for their grandest event of the year - The 75th Gala Anniversary: France – Philippines Diplomatic Relations. The evening gala, part of the year-long commemoration of ties between France and The Philippines, was a stunning celebration of food, fashion and culture.
Very special guests of the event were the Ambassador of France to the Philippines, the honorable Madame Michelle Boccoz; Academy Award™-nominated French actress Isabelle Huppert; star of Netflix’s Emily In Paris Lucas Bravo; Secretary of the Department of Transportation (DOTr) Jaime “Jimmy” Bautista, and; Department of Foreign Affairs Undersecretary Carlos Sorreta (Multilateral Affairs and International Economic Relations). Also in attendance were esteemed members of CCI France Philippines, key figures from the French community and local industries, and featured and invited media and celebrity guests.
The elegant Grand Ballroom of the Raffles & Fairmont Makati was the perfect venue for an event as opulent as the 75th Gala Anniversary, the showpieces of which were a runway fashion show celebrating the ingenuity of Filipino designers inspired by the French coast and Philippine pearls, a charity art auction, and the Le Trophée Bleu Sustainable Business Awards, in partnership with Havas Media Ortega and The Plastic Flamingo. The highlight of the evening was an expertly and carefully curated selection of French and Filipino cuisine created by renowned French chef Alain Passard, owner of the 3-star Michelin restaurant L’Arpège in Paris, and lauded Filipino restaurateur Chef Jessie Sincioco. The Culinary team of Raffles & Fairmont Makati, headed by Executive Chef Béla Rieck, supported the star chefs in crafting the evening’s impressive menu.
The Raffles & Fairmont Makati was proud to be the site for such an illustrious and historic event as the 75th Gala Anniversary of French and Philippine relations, and to have welcomed both Isabelle Huppert and Lucas Bravo as residents while they attended both the 25th French Film Festival and the 75th Gala Anniversary. The property, which will be celebrating its 10th anniversary in February, has hosted several prestigious events since its opening in 2013, and looks forward to welcoming more as its story continues to unfold.
